Condemning the assassination of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat leader Hafeezullah Mir, Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) demanded closure on November 22 and protests after Friday prayers in Kashmir.

"JRL has declared a complete shutdown of one day against this vandalism and inhuman proceedings on Thursday, 22nd November 2018, and on 23 November, there was peaceful protest to demonstrate solidarity with the movement and the martyrs, who had given the old slavery of this age Had put his life to the end, "said in a statement released today.

It has been said in the statement that the JRL of Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Yasin Malik expressed grief and condemned this "scary and barbaric action" by government agencies.

He said that Indian rulers have always played a good role in eliminating "political activists" through their local counterparts who raised their voices against this unholy and unjustly compelled business.

He said that Mir Hafezulla was a highly educated, sensible and visionary supporter of independence and his honesty, dedication and sacrifice earned him a prestigious position and status in the state political party, especially in South Kashmir.

He said that in particular, every massive revolt in 2016, he played an important and central role for almost five months to maintain that movement and gave a lot of hard time to the government forces and finally he was caught in a fraud.
